Pulmonary embolism - Symptoms

What are symptoms of pulmonary embolism?

Depending on the extent of the disease, the following symptoms can occur:

  • Light shortness of breath
  • Strong breathing difficulties
  • Thorax pain
  • Cough
  • Sense of anxiety
  • Tachycardia
  • Mortal fear
  • Shock symptoms (loss of consciousness, cardiac arrest)

A large embolism develops frequently from several smaller embolisms. You will feel that in the form of skipped heartbeats, fast pulse and dizziness. If typical signs of a venous thrombosis occur (pressure sensation, heat, pain and swelling in the leg), please see a doctor.
