Diverticulitis - Symptoms

Was sind die Symptome bei einer Divertikulitis?

Since diverticulitis has similar symptoms to appendicitis - on the left side only - it is also known by the following symptoms:

  • Appendicitis of elderly
  • Left appendicitis

Most of the time the following symptoms occur:

  • Dull pain in the left lower abdomen (sometimes radiating into the right side)
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Flatulence
  • Pus or mucus in the stool
  • Fever (sometimes)

If you experience pain during urination, the physician will initially suspect a bladder infection. If the symptoms are not reduced after treatment with antibiotics, there could be a case of diverticulitis. Also if air escapes from the urethra during urination, this may be a sign of the disease. A pathological connection between the bowel and the bladder has formed.
