Certain patient groups can undergo surgery. For such a treatment, the following conditions must be met:

  • A part of the lung can be removed and provided with artificial valves.  This can combat the hyperinflation of the lung and the complicated expiration.
  • Through a lung transplant, the whole organ or parts of the damaged lung can be replaced by a donor organ
